Wilco Weekend

We spent the last days of August in South Bend. We went up with the Rhodas to see Wilco. We got to camp at Maria's sister's house, they have a beautiful property with a great pond. We also got to meet Maria's parents Betty and Rocco. Betty gave me a private tour of their incredible garden and house. The Wilco concert at Covaleski ballpark was outstanding. The boys danced and sang like Wilco regulars. If you have not heard of Wilco, please do yourself a favor and start listening. If you know Wilco you must catch them live and outside. The boys in Snapper pond. The name enough kept me out of the water.

Papa Cooks

When we went to Columbus a few weeks ago and Papa treated the boys to one of his special breakfasts. He made the boys waffles. He made the batter, filled the waffle iron and served up some tasty treats.

Thanks for the vittles Papa. Oh yeah, Baba served up some of her terrific lasagna the night we arrived. It was a good trip.

Just a few more Michigan highlights

Michigan Highlights

Keep Trying

We went down to the beach on our last evening in Michigan. Our goal was simple, a photograph of me and the boys. This is how it went. Actually, this is how it has been going with any photo we try and take.
Nice smile Owen.
Okay, haha could you guys please take just one good photo!

Ahhh, not again. Time to make a change in the pose.

We got rid of Owen. (We are standing on him).

Finally!

Michigan

For the past 9 years we have been spending time during the summer at Portage Point Inn. We stay in the charming inn and enjoy hours at the beach. Lake Michigan is beautiful, clean and cool. The weather could not have been better. The time we spend up there goes by so fast, our days look something like this: Wake up, eat breakfast in the dining room, gather up our stuff and head to the beach for the long haul, have a snack around 3:00 and head back to the beach until dinner. Our days do not vary very much but this year included kayaking, canoeing and peddle boating. The Inn
