Another Thanksgiving in Columbus. Belu's are creatures of habits! The guys went out for fried bologna sandwiches on Wednesday. Thursday morning we raced and skated. We fried not one but two turkeys and they were fantastic! We hokeyed, we pokeyed, we chicken danced. This year Baba taught Rick how to make the famous nut roll. It was a good holiday.

George measured the most growth on the annual measurement of the cousins (3 1/2")

Randy is deep frying mushrooms and pickles for everyone before he fries the turkeys

Another year of skating. Yes, they still need their helmets.

George believes in safety first.

Anniversary with grown up kids

I never got around to posting this. This is the evening of Baba and Papa's 50th wedding anniversary.

Good Times

Once again May ends in spectacular fashion: Crawfish and racing. It is a great evening of wonderful beverages and spicy eats. But what truly makes this a great evening is the fantastic people that come to our house to help us eat and drink everything.

Eating in the street this year was where it's at. The new location of the boil was a success.

Owen- Framer of the Constitution

Owen was in the fifth grade production of "Shhhhhh, We're Writing the Constitution!". The performance was great and I actually learned a lot about what went on while the constitution was being written.

Play that funky music...

The boys had their strings concert last week. George played his cello and Owen played the violin. They entire Redbird Orchestra sounded great. They looked especially smashing in their bow ties and cumberbuns.

Happy Easter, Egg

The Bunny surprised the boys with these baskets of treats this morning, they we not too excited about getting baskets filled with empty beer bottles, spices and a few other odds and ends. I wasn't too excited about the Bunny drinking our beer and NyQuil! After finding a few more clues the boys found a basket that was a little more to their liking.

Mmmm..half eaten bottle of peanuts..salt..

The Morning started off with cheddar biscuits and gravy.

Our Tulips (taken earlier in the week)

Our impromptu Easter pasta dinner. I was planning a grand feast and got a little behind on my planning and when I got to Fresh Market for today's dinner supplies I found they were closed!

Good thing we had some wonderful pesto from the summer left in the freezer, some arancini and Italian soda. All on Grandma Belu's table and china. It was a good (rainy) day.

Track Meet

Owen had his first track meet today. It was warm and windy, as good as you could ask for in April in Indiana. Owen started the day with high jump. This was his first time ever to try it and he looked good but his legs brought the bar down every time. The bar was set at four feet to start. That is higher than they ever practiced , and Owen is 4'11.

Owen ran the 1600 and finished 3rd with a time of 6.07, he considers it a really slow time. Brady won the race, he was scorching fast and Matt Fink came in 2nd. A good showing for St. Luke.

Owen finishing the 1600

This is the medley relay team. O has his game face on, they ran against Cadet boys and girls and a really strong Christ the King team, they came in 4th out of 6. All in all it was a great day at the track, a long day, but great non the less.

Due to the wind Owen rocked the pony tail- sweet!

March Happenings

We have finished up basketball and are moving to outdoor activities. The sun is finally out and the early spring plants are starting to poke their heads through the soil, a welcome sign for sure.

Rick has been playing too.

Owen dressed as Paul Revere for his living museum at school.

These two second graders are not quite sure what to make of Paul.
